Reno - Day 31
Today we were rescued by the wonderful Christopher Swann. This amazing young man and his assistant came in and installed the dryer, put up the shower doors, installed the gas fireplace, put in carbon monoxide alarms, and hooked up an outside faucet. This is more work done in one day than his predecessor did in a month! Thank God for Christopher!!!

Reno - Day 30
I can't tell you how happy I was to have the blinds fitted today! After living here for a little over a week, I no longer feel "on display" to the curious passers by!

Reno - Day 29
No sign of the plumber for the third day in a row, but we have managed to get a few other bits done while we're waiting.
I am TECHNICALLY living in the cottage now. The kitchen sink, dishwasher, dryer and outside tap are not yet operable. The floor is not put down in the living room because the gas fire must go in first. And the shower doors have not been installed in the main bathroom. So it's pretty dusty and uncomfortable at the moment. Wha has helped is the kitchen units being finished and partially stocked now. I've also moved in the table and chairs, so the kitchen is coming together.
And the carpets have been installed in the bedrooms -

Okay, we still have ugly coloured walls, but WE HAVE A FLOOR! No more dusty hallway and dusty clothes.

Reno - Day 27
The washer and dryer have been fitted, just waiting on the utility countertop and boiler cabinet to be installed.

Welcome to my Garden
Works in the house may have stalled, but that won't stop me from starting on the garden. There's SO much work to be done here, but I'm really looking forward to it!

Eeeeek!!!
These two gave me quite a fright until I remembered where I am. It's just a couple of non-venomous pieces of wire!

Reno - Day 22
Today I have good news and bad news -
The good news is that they fitted the fireplace today and it is DIVINE!
There is a lovely gas fire insert that will be fitted shortly to finish this off, but already I think it totally makes this room!
Now for the bad news - the gas crowd has deemed the gas tank as too close to the garage, so that means paying for a digger for another day and further delays in getting the tank certified and filled so that we can have gas for hot water, cooking and heating.
Time for a glass of wine...
